Pisharnath Mahadev Mandir is a temple of Lord Shiva located in the Matheran hill Station, Maharashtra, India. It is the oldest temple in the Matheran village and set at the height of 2600 ft above the sea level. It is a hill station located through the Western Ghats range and only hill station that is absolutely free from automobile. As per Hindu religion we have three main super powers that are Trimurthis (Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma) but Lord Shiva is the most important of these Trimurthis. The God Pisharnath is the village deity (Grama Devata).
The Shivling of Pisharnath mandir, how many year old, Nobody knows, the Temple location is very old and situated in dense forest area. Nearby peoples of village are considered the Lingam of Shiva as family deity and they prayers to grama deity on the all functions and ceremonies.
Matheran, it is a beautiful and famous hills station as well as a spot where mostly folks of Mumbai and Pune comes to spend a calm weekend. Most of visitor comes in Pisharnath who even come to visit Matheran. Mahashivaratri and Ram Navami are the main festivals that are celebrated on the grand scale and lots of devotee comes to visit temple.
Note: On the rainy reason (Month of August), you should avoid to come there due to mud and slippery. It is better to visit in Non-rainy season.
The Temple Open daily at 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and in the evening 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The best time to visit here is from September to November and February to March.

Mumbai Chatrapati Shivaji Internation Airport is nearest airport which is 185 km far from the Pasharnath Temple.
