Mughal Gardens in Kashmir

Mughal Gardens are the set of six beautiful gardens which are in Jammu and Kashmir and Srinagar produce the maximum. The gardens were built by the Mughal in Persian style of Architecture. Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh are most beautiful, popular and largest mughal gardens in India. Mughal gardens are mainly popular for natural greenery, pools, fountains and Canals inside the Gardens. Babur was the founder of Mughal Gardens who was the King of Mughal Empire after Babur Death his Grand Son Akbar built several gardens in Delhi then in Agra etc.

Shalimar Bagh (Garden)

Shalimar Bagh

Shalimar Bagh is also known as the “Garden of Love” and built in 1616 by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Nur Jahan. Shalimar Bagh is the largest garden situated at northest of Dal Lake in Srinagar. During the Autumm and spring seasons, it looks so beautiful. A light and sound show is held every day in the months of May to October.

Nishat Bagh

Nishat Bagh

Nishat Bagh is also so attractive and beautiful garden but smaller then Shalimar Bagh. It is known as A garden of Bliss, A garden of happiness, A garden of Delight, whatever you want call it. The Nishat bagh was built by Asaf Khan who was the brother of Jahangir’s wife in 1633.

Chashme Shahi

Chashme Shahi

Chashme Shahi is one of the most gorgeous gardens which are built by Mughal. The main features of the garden are fresh water, fountains, water pools and terraces. Chashme Shahi is the most tourist attraction point in Kashmir and was built by Ali mardan Khan in 1632.

Achabal Garden

Achabal Garden is a beautiful and most tourist attraction point in Anantnag. Achabal Garden is also known as the Placed of the Princes. Noor Jahan who was the wife of Mughal emperor Jahangir was foundation of the Achabal Garden in 1620.

Verinag Garden is the first tourist visiting spot in Kashmir Valley. It is a fascination garden situated at the foot hill of mountain range and main entry point of Kashmir valley near Srinagar summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It was built by Mirza Haider and construction started in 1619.
