Rewari district is in southern Haryana around the 80 kilometers from the capital of India 21 district in state. Before 1 November 1989 Rewari district was a part of Mohindergarh district. It was separated on 1 November 1989. The city have administrative headquarter of this district. According to census year 2011 it second least populous district after Panchkula. The Rewari district region is known as Ahirwal because dominated by the Yadav (Rao Sahab)
District is divided into three mainly tehsils (Rewari, Bawal, Kosli) these palaces are so important center for growth of district revenue department and four other sub tehsil are (Dharuhera, Dhaina, Manethi, Nahar)
In the district language have variation due to Mohindergarh, Gurugram, Kotkasim, Narnaul, Kotputli, Bansur etc. the district is in center of these cities so variation found in language but Ahirwati (Hirwati) is main language in the district.
All festivals are celebrated here with great zest but Teej have special importance in heart of Rewari citizen. On the occasion of Teej, people have a great fun men and children flying kites and women wear new saries organize fair on special points in the city. These fairs are special for women and girls.
The city is known as “Brass City” so a market name is brass market. Brass market us hub point for various purpose. Metal work in the city is famous in India.
Rewari has great importance for agriculture production in the state Haryana. Total geographical area of the district is 151 lakh hectares. This area is very rich in agriculture production. Main soil is alluvial soil (Loamy) Alluvial soil covered around 66% total land part (108 lakh hectare). According to 2010-2011 Net Sown Area and Gross Sown Area is increasing so fast in the district. Main source of irrigation are canal 2.1 % and tube wells 97.9 %. According to a survey around 29725 pump set are in the Rewari. Quality of underground water is Alkaline.
The normal rainfall in the district is 657 mm. This is average rainfall of last ten years and the distribution of the rainfall is uneven in the district.
Main crop season are Kharif (Bajra, Maize, Jowar, Karif Pulses, Guar etc.) total area sown in the season around 42 % but in Rabi (Wheat, Rabi Pulses, Taramira, Mustard, Gram etc.) total area sown in the season 58%.
Livestock are according to survey in 2010-2011, 189 lakh Buffalos, 18 lakh Goat.
According to census year 2011 Rewari district population has 896,129 that are equal to Fiji country. The density of population is 562 persons per square kilometer and population growth rate is 17.09%, sex ratio is 905 females out of 1000 males, literacy rate is 82.2%.
