The rich culture of Goa is hard to define in words. Goa falls in the tropical zone and its location near the Arabian Sea makes it humid round the year. The temperature remains hot all round year, May being the hottest month. Monsoon arrives by early June and last till the month of September. Winter season is the shortest among all seasons that start in the mid of December and continues till February.

The scenic state is categorized into two districts: North Goa and South Goa. Headquarters of the region of North Goa are located in the Panaji, the capital city of Goa. Headquarters of South Goa district is based in Margao. Major cities of the state are Panaji, Ponda, Mapusa, Margao and Vasco Da Gama. North Goa and South Goa are further partitioned into a number of subdivisions.


Goa is one of the richest states of the country with highest GDP per capita. Tourism, being the most flourishing industry contributes a lot to the economy of the state.
